Shahid Kapur may be mum about his love life however the actor has no issues talking about his upcoming Kismet Konnection. Some excerpts from the TOI interview.
The buzz is that Kismet Konnection is a remake of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
Untrue. Kismet Konnection is not Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. But since all of Aziz Mirza’s films revolve around a real, believable common man’s struggle for success, there may be some parallels at a basic level.
What’s with the Vidya Balan connection? You’ve been picking her up from the studios, taking her for long lunch dates.. you even came for the Kismat Konnection music launch together.
I’ve never picked Vidya up. Yes, we have gone out for lunch a couple of times. But we came for the music launch separately. Since we were told to be there at a particular time, we arrived together.
Two hours late.. and the press walked out.
I was told to come at 10 pm. The traffic was bad, I was late by half an hour. When I arrived I was told the press had been there since 8.30 pm. There was obviously some miscommunication. To make amends, we organised another event. (Smiles) And this time I was there before time.
So you’re not dating Vidya?
Vidya’s a good friend, and nothing more. I’m a regular guy who likes his space. (Sarcastically) When I get into a relationship, I’ll announce it in the newspapers and television.
Yes, I watched the men’s final till 5 am even though I had a 7 am shoot.
And did you watch Sania Mirza’s matches?
Yeah, I saw both her matches.
Disappointed by her early exit?
Considering the fact that Sania was coming back from an injury, she played well.
You injured your neck too and Sania is supposed to have visited you often.
You guys have a camera installed in my house or what? My neck injury put me out of action for three weeks but I’m fit and fine now, thank you.
So you’re doing bike stunts on the road, without a helmet?
I haven’t even sat on a bike in the last three years. Today, all my moves are restricted to the dance floor.
ell me about Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kamenay?
We had an acting workshop and have just started shooting.
Your father Pankaj Kapur’s film?
That should start by the year-end.
And your mother Neelima Azim’s film?
I don’t want to talk about that.
Any reason for your new longish-hair look?
I’ve been growing my hair since Jab We Met. My stylist, Dilshad, wants it longer and longer. I’d be quite glad to cut it.
