Mira Nair’s much-acclaimed film, 'The Namesake' has been snubbed by the Oscars much to the disappointment of the director. Mira in of her interviews proclaimed that “Hollywood suffers from color amnesia” and hence wasn’t surprised to a degree.  In fact director/friend Shekar Kapur also expressed disappointment over the Oscar snub for 'The Namesake though his leading lady, Cate Blanchett from 'Elizabeth—The Golden Age' has been nominated in the  Best Actress category.
