"I have finally opened my music conservatory,'' he said. "In the coming months we will have students and singers training in performances and production.''
One of India's leading composers, Rahman produced the music for the stage version of J R R Tolkien's trilogy ``The Lord of the Rings,'' for Andrew Lloyd Webber's ``Bombay Dreams'' and songs for more than 120 Bollywood movies.
"Having the knowledge of both music performances and music technology is invaluable,'' Rahman was quoted as saying. "The skill to perform an instrument combined with production capabilities will ensure many more career opportunities.''
“Many of the instrumentalists who play today belong to my father’s generation. While younger musicians go for the keyboard or the software used, not many take to playing a violin or a brass,” he said. “The vision of KM Music Conservatory is to eliminate this obstacle and provide an exemplary orchestra here in India.”
The faculty at the conservatory will include professors from India and aboard, and other musicians who will train students in Indian and Western Classical music.

Great! It is really worth celebrating! I think opening such a music conservatory is very significant to his life. I began to know Rahman's talent in composing for his album -- Introducing A.R. Rahman : http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=77058&ru=279 , that is really fantastic! If the kids are guided by this talented composer, I belive, more good music will come out in India!
