"I was really nervous when I faced the camera for the first time after such a long gap. My heart was racing and I feared that I will forget the dialogues," Dixit told reporters in Delhi on Tuesday.
The star was in the capital to address a press conference to promote her film Aaja Nachle produced by Adyta Chopra, which is scheduled for release this Friday.
"Everything has changed so much nowadays. Everything is so disciplined, the shooting is so streamlined," said the actress, who had relocated to the US and stopped work in films after her marriage.
So was she apprehensive of making a comeback? "Well, I asked Adi (Aditya Chopra) whether people would be ready to see me again and Adi just laughed," she says.
"I missed my craft. I missed the film sets, acting, dancing and everything related to the films, except the limelight," she said.
Madhuri, who left India and settled in US after her marriage, said she was fortunate to get the support of her family and husband.
"I have always got the support of my family and husband. So when I decided to make a comeback, I sat with my husband and talked and discussed and took all the steps required accordingly," she says.
So now that she has made a comeback and worked with a bunch of new actors, how does she feel?
"It has been a wonderful experience so far. I think they are a group of wonderful actors, eager to learn all the time. So, I see something of myself in all of them," she says.
