Aamir Khan will not be allowed to care for his mentally unwell brother, according to an order by a western Indian court on Wednesday. The court granted custody of Khan's brother, Faisal, to their father. Faisal Khan has been diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia and manic depression.

The court rejected Aamir Khan's petition for custody of his brother on grounds that Faisal Khan, 41, wanted to live with their father.



Aamir Khan was also present in court but preferred not to speak to the media. The family members of Faisal were summoned to the magistrate's chamber, where it is reported that Aamir, his mother Zeenat and his father Tahir Husain, all independently asked to be given custody of Faisal (40).
