Director Imtiaz Ali dismisses reports that he had a tough time with Shahid and Kareena during the shooting of Jab We Met.

peaking about the couple, Imtiaz says, “They are very steady. Not like teeny boppers, the bond looks evolved. They are well adjusted to each other and I often addressed them as one. But as actors, the two are diametrically opposite individuals.”

Speaking further, Imtiaz said he never used the same style of explanation for them. “Shahid likes detailing. He asks for logical explanations. He would get all the information required.” About Kareena, he said, “She is impulsive and does exactly what you ask her to in just a few shots. No need of an extra word.”

Shahid especially bowled Imtiaz at some instances. “Once at Rohtang Pass, the temperatures were near-zero. And suddenly we were surrounded by a few clouds and oxygen started to deplete. Shahid was quick to get the crew inside the cars and all of us were safe,” revealed Imtiaz about Shahid’s presence of mind.
About Kareena, Imtiaz says, “Unlike what people think of Kareena, she threw no tantrums, showed no attitude and was often like any other person on the sets.” Choreographer Saroj Khan shot for a sequence involving 150 folk dancers in Himachal and her concentration on each movement was amazing too. Currently rejuvenating with newer ideas, Imtiaz says after the release of Jab We Met he will come up with another interesting story. All the best, we say.
