Talented director Farhan Akhtar will now make his debut as an actor in Anand Surapur’s The Fakir of Venice that has Annu Kapoor in the title role. Looks like Akhtar is serious about his acting stint and will also play the lead role in Abhishek Kapoor’s next film.

Abhishek confirms the news though remaining tight-lipped about the project. “All I can reveal right now is that Farhan is slated to play the lead role in my film”.

Farhan Akhtar adds excitedly, “Yes, I am playing the male lead in Abhishek’s film. It is going to be a very young film, similar to my Dil Chahta Hai. A formal announcement about the film will be made in due course of time.”
