Sanjay Dutt's has been taken to the high-security Arthur Road Jail and barrack number 10 will be the actor's new address for the next few days. This is the same jail where gangster Abu Salem is being held, who allegedly supplied Dutt a consignment of weapons and ammunition 14 years ago, sources said.

Before heading to jail, Sanjay Dutt spoke to his daughter Trishala who is based in the US. Judge P D Kode of the special TADA court granted permission for the star to be supplied toiletries, clothes and essential items in the jail. Sanjay Dutt's family released a statement to the press that they will appeal in the Supreme Court as they found the sentencing too harsh.
