Many feel that Farhan Akhtar lost his way in Don, which failed to garner any critical acclaim despite being a box office success. The man who gave us gems like Dil Chaata Hain and Lakshaya is now contemplating a period film.

“Yes, I’m planning to direct my first period film. Tentatively titled Voice From The Sky, it is set at the turn of the last century … around 1905. I’ve spoken to Irrfan Khan. He’s an actor I’ve admired for a long time, and not just after ‘The Namesake’ and ‘Metro’. I waited to find a project that would be suitable for both of us.”

Voice From The Sky is about the communication system. “It goes back to a time when the telephone had just emerged as the new means of communication. I’m dedicating the film to my mom,” Farhan said.
