The actress will be questioned by the Surat ( Gujarat) police in connection with the 2003 extortion case involving gangster and underworld don Fazal-ur-Rehman Abdul Basit alias Fazlu .

The Police had charge-sheeted eight persons including Shilpa's parents Surendra and Sunanda Shetty. Fazlu had claimed that he started making threatening calls to Surat based textile mill owner Pankaj Agarwal on Shilpa's order.
