The success of the uber cool Youtube Video Sharing Service has resulted in similar websites over the last few months. Some might call them clones, however in my opinion there is nothing wrong with cashing on to something phenomenal.

The one common complaint I come across often, is how Youtube or other major video services lack Desi or Indian content. That is why we thought its useful to put the spotlight on AapkaVideo. While they are still in the process of building a comprehensive video database, I did come across some interesting and rare videos.

Over the past few months I have visited a number of Neo Video Sharing Websites and most of them were pretty horrid when it comes to playing back the content. To my relief AapkaVideo has no problems and I didn't have to go through the whole process of downloading shock-wave plugins, add ons etc. Most videos were in good quality and are placed in the appropriate categories.

Navigating the website was a breeze and the layout was pretty simple yet effective. Uploading videos was not a problem either and you have to sign up with them before posting videos. The server refuses files which are greater than 100MB in size and there are mandatory features like; add ons, FAQs and Support. Those familiar with Google or Youtube Video Service will have no problems adapting to the website.

So in a nutshell is AapkaVideo a great alternative to popular video sharing services? Well they have a long way to go and the key factor has to be publicity and content. The folks over at Aapka Video will have to take steps to make their website more attractive to the user and think out of the box. AapkaVideo's target audience is the South Asian community and capturing their attention maybe a tough job but in the end highly lucrative!
