On Marriages:
“Both, love and arrange marriage depend on how your upbringing is
“I think I have started taking marriages seriously. I am just 25 years old and at this age one doesn’t really think seriously about marriage, until you come to that point where you think you do want to get married in the immediate future. I think my understanding of the word ‘Vivah’ (marriage) has increased. Soorajji says that Vivah stands for those promises that two people make to each other. I believe in purity of those promises that I have learned from this film.”
On Love:
“My point of view towards love is that one should accept their partner as they are. One should not expect qualities in others and that’s how I look at the things. In this film, Amrita’s character has certain innocence and certain sense of commitment which comes in her part early in the film and that is one of the highlights of this film.” Shahid has high hopes for this film. “There is nothing loud in the film so as an actor I had to tone down myself in many portions and that is something new for me as an actor. The climax of this film will make you sit back and think if one really has this kind of conviction? Do you have the courage to make a promise and live up to it?”
On Work:
“I have been working continuously from three years, now I have taken a break. I am hearing scripts right now. I need to spend little time with myself to see where I went wrong, what are the things that people like about me. I have realized that the script is the back bone of a film and being little choosy about the scripts, probably early next year I’ll start working, but not now.”
