interview of him:What’s the objective of The Foundation?
It’s to prevent discrimination of any kind – be it between men and women, on religious terms or sexual preferences. The first initiative by The Foundation is called Andaman and Nicobar Scholarships Initiative (ANSI) which will provide scholarships to deserving students. The idea here is to equalise opportunities.
Is the next initiative also focused on the youth?
Yes. The next initiative will try and re-inculcate the culture of non-discrimination amongst the youth. Young Indians are aware about caste today because of issues like the reservation policy which affects them.
Why did you decide to float an NGO now?
The idea to start The Foundation now was because there is a need for it.
What happens to your other passions?
I have kept six months for acting and direction, three for rugby and three for social activities. Besides, I have postponed my directorial film by about nine months.
