PR Dasmunsi, The Information and Broadcasting Minister talked about the Govt’s plan to introduce a policy on film-making which would “promote filmmaking in the country through means like easier finance and tax concessions. Films have given a lot to the government by way of revenue, but government has not done anything for the film industry,” he said.

issues including; various issues like easier finances for films, tax concessions, piracy, export duties and organizations of film festivals. One will also finally see a “model level” for certification of both Indian and foreign films and will also work towards enhancing and making regional cinema more lucrative.
“Indian films make profits, but a collaboration with a foreign producer provides many subsidies like a 12% refund, which makes it very attractive for Indians to shoot abroad. But a similar offer is not available for those producers to shoot in India,” said Bobby Bedi, filmmaker and chairman of the CII national Committee on Entertainment.
