Big B As Gabbar Singh? The Industry Gives It Verdict!

By now the whole world has an opinion on the remake of Sholay. However lets see what some Bollywood celebrities think about the Big B as Gabbar Singh:

Vipul Shah (producer): He’s one of the finest actors. I’m extremely eager to see him as Gabbar Singh. It is so difficult

to imagine him in the garb of Gabbar though. The look, clothes and accessories contributed a lot to Gabbar’s character.

Mahesh Manjrekar (director): Even though Amitabh Bachchan is a great actor, Gabbar is someone who has stayed in your mind. Even in plays when an actor is substituted and the new actor is brilliant, people do not take easily to the new one, as the older one has become a habit. However, Ramu’s ‘Sholay’ is a city-based story. So there is no risk of the characters being unaccepted. Mr. Bachchan being a brilliant actor will definitely make a good job of it.

Gulshan Grover(actor): Undoubtedly, Mr Bachchan will do a great portrayal of Gabbar. Ramu will ensure that the audience is not disappointed. However, when someone as iconic as Mr Bachchan plays a negative character, some immature minds may ape him blindly. But, I am sure Mr Bachchan and RGV will leave no stone unturned to make this character work.
