Covering Bollywood and the Hindi Cinema

More on the remake front. Looks like the directors have run out of old movies to remake and thus remaking their own movies! After RGV and Raj Sippy its now Sudhir Mishra who wants to remake "Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin", which had Smriti Mishra, Tara Deshpande and Nirmal Pandey. In fact the man has some lofty ambitions, as he wants to cast Adrian Brody in the lead! Here are some excerpts from an interview:

"I'm remaking 'Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin' completely in English for my friend Shekhar Kapoor who will produce the film. This time the plot about one thrilling night in the life of a cluster of distraught characters would be located completely in England. It goes on the floors in 2007."

"I want to cast someone like Adrien Brody in the lead. The female protagonist would be played by an Indian actress. I've worked out the entire visual plan," said the director.

"It was a small but noticed film. I made it for Amit Khanna's Plus Channel (now defunct). I enjoyed doing it then. But now when I look at 'Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin', I see a lot of potential in it. I don't think it has dated a bit,
