If you thought Farhan Akhtar was all gung-ho about remakes, well think again. In a recent interview to the daily Mid-Day, the man expressed some serious concerns on RGV’s Sholay (we hear you Akhtar). According to him some movies are not meant to be “remade” and the classic Sholay falls into that category!
It’s an idea I was sitting on for a long time.As much as I love the other classics from my growing years, like Sholay and Deewar, Don was extra-special. It’s not as if I found Don to be a film that needed any kind of improvement. It’s just that I felt it was something that could render itself well to a contemporary adaptation.”
So what do you think? Classic case of Pot Calling The Kettle Black or is there some truth to Akhtar’s observation! Personally I agree with FA as some movies are perfect!
