Vishal Bharadwaj is not getting any sleep these days. The reason being his much talked about film Omkara which is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello. According to sources he’s making sure that the movie releases on July 28! No other significant movies are scheduled for release during that time and Bharadwaj feels that this would be the right time. Makes sense if you ask me as the ‘Baap’ of all movies Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna by Karan Johar is just round the corner. And while we Indians may love our Shakespeare nothing beats the Rani, Karan and Shah Rukh combo with a whole lot of tears, laughter, songs, glamour. For the uninitiated Omkara revolves around the criminal mafia in Uttar Pradesh and Kareena plays Desmonda. This is not the first time Bhardawaj has adapted a Shakespeare play and his Maqbool an adaptation of Macbeth was extremely successful.
