August 9, 2006 is going to be a historic date for Bollywood fans and the Indian nation. It on this fateful day that the whole nation will witness the historic show ‘India Gate Salutations 2006’ where legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and 91 year old Bismillah Khan will perform commemorating all the martyrs of India. The show quite appropriately will take place in India Gate in New Delhi and will also include political luminaries like Sonia Gandhi.Shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan will be the oldest Bharat Ratna recipient and wants to be part of this event as the year 2006 marks 75 years of India Gate which was built in 1931. In fact Ustad Bismillah Khan also performed on 15th August 1947 (I don’t need to tell you what that date signifies!) at Red Fort. Truly historic isn’t it?
