Covering Bollywood and the Hindi Cinema

Looks like I am not the only one who didn’t like Corporate, a film which deals  more with the sleazy side of the business world than focusing on what the corporate world is all about. Now the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) are up in arms and protesting the movie as according to them, this movie is just hogwash and only concentrates on depicting the business world in one particular way! According to ASSOCHAM secretary general D.S. Rawat not only is the depiction totally negative but one should also remember the new corporatization of the Bollwyood and how a number of production houses have shares in the stock market.

This is what he said and as you see he was pretty vocal about the movie:

"The film paints the entire corporate sector with the same brush, portraying the industrial houses as ruthless, heartless and hand-in-glove with corrupt politicians. Nothing can be further from truth,"

He continues : "woman protagonist has been shown as a sacrificial goat is just not the real picture of India Inc which has some of the most respectable leaders to boast."

"While there is a research to the extent of using certain jargons like 'bottom-line', and 'takeover bids', there is no genuine effort to project the real face of the Indian industrial houses”.
