Director Madhur Bhandarkar like his mentor Ram Gopal Verma has been on a noble quest to make “different” or ‘hatke” films. Corporate maybe different from other Bollywood films but sadly its not different from Page 3. Corporate is about the cut throat business world but you can’t get rid of the sense of déjà vu when you watch it. Just like Page 3 this one too deals more with the undercurrents of sex, sleaze and human hypocrisy etc. This one too like Page 3 has the lower rung of society giving their 2 cents on the ‘sahibs’ at regular intervals which at times is pretty crude and boring.
Bips was surprisingly good and KK surprisingly bad. The man had northing to do except drink, smoke and cry (10 times, I counted). The narration was pretty decent and it does hold your attention I must say. Especially the whole cola fiasco which had shades of the Coca Cola scandal. However according to me there was no soul in the movie and in the end you just didn’t care how the characters end up. So if you are Madhur you may like it, but imo just wait for the DVD cos unfortunately you cant fast forward in the theatres!
