Covering Bollywood and the Hindi Cinema

Okay let’s talk numbers. Ever wonder how much does your favorite actor or actress make? Well lots!! According to a recent article in HT’s supplement Brunch the Bollywood stars are demanding exorbitant amounts of moolah and they are getting paid too. Everything is in Crores now and it’s not just the Shah Rukhs or the Amitabh’s commanding the coveted Crore tag. The serial kisser Emraan Hashmi gets one crore too (mmm there is just no justice in the world!).

Here a brief lowdown on stars and their salaries. The King Khan Shah Rukh gets 6 Crores and the talent powerhouse Aamir also commands 6 Crores (yay!).Surprisingly Amitabh Bachchan gets 3 Crores but that’s okay cos his son Abhishek gets a cool 2 Crores. So there’s plenty of money flowing in the Bachchan parivar!

Aishwarya Rai also gets 2 Crores which clearly highlights that the industry is still male dominated. The topless wonder Salman rakes in about 5.5 Crores (with all the bail and legal expenses I guess its justified).The hardworking Akshay Kumar (see pic) also gets 5.5 Crores though his friends gets a concession (aww, so sweet). Whew that was a lot of money, as they say no biz like show biz!
