Gone are the days when you would board a plane to Bombay and catch the stars. If you want to rub shoulders with the Bollywood illuminati then there are more chances of bumping in to them in the European countryside than amchi Mumbai! For instance the colossal film distribution group, Eros International declared that it has raised 22.5 million pounds in an offering on London's Alternate Investment Market and north Staffordshire and north Wales are the new shooting hubs!IIFA the Indian equivalent to Oscar (or so they claim) will next year be held in Yorkshire and the local authorities are already gearing up for it. Man the British are an efficient lot! We all now by know about the honary degree awarded to the Big B by De Montfort University and he will personally receive it on July 19th!. Bollywood is getting recognition from BAFTA and BAFTA Goes Bollywood' (July 14-16) will screenings of Indian films like Dil Chahta Hai", "Devdas", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" and interviews by Shah Rukh, Chopra, Aamir, Preity and Karan Johar.So looks like Bollywood is all set to take over the Britain and boy are we happy!
(On a side note, my prayers with the people of Bombay and Srinager after the multiple bomb blasts yesterday)
